We are family. Our band consists of three brothers and our dad. As a result of a shared love of good music and inspired/mentored by many talented musicians in the Greenwood music scene, the youngsters formed the band O’Doyle Rulz (https://odoylerulz.com) with friend, Freddie McClendon, in late 2017. During the pandemic period, the boys and their dad created Surrender Cobra.
Jarratt Smith (guitar, ukulele, drums, lead vocals)
Witt Smith (bass, vocals)
Benjo Smith (drums, vocals)
Brandon Smith (electric banjo, keyboard, vocals).
We play venues and festivals all over South Carolina, Georgia and beyond. The recordings from our most recent session at Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon, GA are available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, etc. We have recorded eight songs at Capricorn over the last two years and have been joined in studio and/or on stage by Brandon "Taz" Niederauer (guitar virtuoso and actor), Robert Lee Coleman (guitarist for James Brown and Percy Sledge), Bob Margolin (guitarist for Muddy Waters and Pinetop Perkins and featured in the classic music documentary, The Last Waltz) and many veterans of Greenwood's legendary music scene. Plus, Josh Norman, star NFL cornerback from Greenwood, can be heard on vocals on Just A Friend. Stay tuned for our first batch of original tunes. We look forward to developing, recording and releasing them in 2022!
We are normal kids that enjoy sports and the outdoors. When he is not busy as a lawyer and the Mayor of the City of Greenwood, our dad plays with us as well. People often come to see the novelty of kids in a rock band. But, they stick around when they see we are actually really good!
We play everything from Allman Brothers, Lenny Kravitz and the Beatles to Bob Marley, Tyler Childers and more. We love to perform live, so please come out and see us or let us know where you would like us to play!
